ARA Power and Communications Unit
The Askar'yan Radio Array's remote power nodes communicate with the main lab by a variety of means. The Power and Communications Unit is a data aggregator. The PCU communicates with different nodes by Ethernet or by RS-485 or by Zigbee radio, simultaneously. Data from all nodes are aggregated into a single stream for transmission to the North by satellite. Also, commands from the North are routed to the correct node.
