Continuous Source of Renewable Power
New nodes are being added to the Telescope Array RADAR (TARA) project over a wide area in western Utah. A continuous source of renewable power must be provided to each node, and the IDL, working with the Besson group at KU, is leveraging its experience with remote power to energize these nodes.
A test system was deployed in 2013, although there was not an opportunity to deploy the turbine. From these measurements, future systems will be developed.
