NMR Spin Speed Controller
Stabilize Spin Rate
This Spin Speed Controller is capable of stabilizing the spin rate of an air-driven NMR sample tube to a fraction of a Hz, even while the air pressure drifts or jumps.
The controller measures the rotational rate of the NMR sample twice per second to a precision below 0.1Hz, and then uses a PID algorithm to keep that rate constant indefinitely.
The system includes a PC-based graphical user interface (GUI) to monitor the operation as well as a large front-panel display.
The Spin Speed Controllers designed and built by the IDL are examples of instruments that can operate autonomously or with a PC.
